A few years ago, Leslie Kiger left SELA and moved East, taking with her her boundless energy and high spirits. She left a big hole behind and we all miss her.
Now that she is firmly planted once again, she's back at quilt-making and has recently had this exceptional entry accepted into the Paducah show. In her own words:
"It was all made from scraps, except for the dark background fabric. It was the first quilt I made after we moved to Georgia, and it was made for the Theme category for the 2010 Pine Belt Quilter's show, which was Log Cabins. The name of it is "Logs and Stars in Scraps" and the pattern is "Eldon" by Laundry Basket Quilts. It won a blue ribbon in the Pine Belt Show, then a blue ribbon at the Jacksonville Quiltfest, and then on to the Georgia State Show, where it got a 3rd place ribbon. JoAn Knight quilted it, and she entered it in the Machine Quilter's Showcase in Overland Park, KS and got a blue ribbon. It is on it's way now to the Smoky Mountain Quilt Show in Knoxville, TN, and then on to Paducah!!"
