Saturday March 17 - NATIONAL QUILTING DAY!!!!!

Yes! It's the 22nd annual National Quilting Day this Saturday and we are going full tilt in celebrating our common passion of fine fabrics and outstanding savings.

Pearl has slashed all the previously marked-down fabrics to an across-the-board price of $3.99 per yard so this is the time to stock up on yardage for your stash and backings. Hundreds of yards will be in the back room.

A large selection of single patterns have been slashed to 99¢ and books to $4.99.

Our large Tiger Face fabric is reduced to $5.99 and all Stonehenge Precuts are on sale.

ALL THE SAVINGS BEGIN SATURDAY MORNING!!!

We will be ending our Pillowcase Shout-Out Saturday closing and we have, through your generous support, exceeded our goal by 31 and counting. I cannot tell you how overwhelming it is to be witnessing this and we Thank You Very Much!!!!! If you were planning on dropping yours off on Saturday, we will gladly receive them and add to our stack because all donated pillowcases will be distributed next week.

I will take a photo of the box and post Saturday to give you a visual idea of what this looks like. You will be astounded!

Big News, Great News!

A few years ago, Leslie Kiger left SELA and moved East, taking with her her boundless energy and high spirits. She left a big hole behind and we all miss her.

Now that she is firmly planted once again, she's back at quilt-making and has recently had this exceptional entry accepted into the Paducah show. In her own words:

"It was all made from scraps, except for the dark background fabric. It was the first quilt I made after we moved to Georgia, and it was made for the Theme category for the 2010 Pine Belt Quilter's show, which was Log Cabins. The name of it is "Logs and Stars in Scraps" and the pattern is "Eldon" by Laundry Basket Quilts. It won a blue ribbon in the Pine Belt Show, then a blue ribbon at the Jacksonville Quiltfest, and then on to the Georgia State Show, where it got a 3rd place ribbon. JoAn Knight quilted it, and she entered it in the Machine Quilter's Showcase in Overland Park, KS and got a blue ribbon. It is on it's way now to the Smoky Mountain Quilt Show in Knoxville, TN, and then on to Paducah!!"

We are all excited for her and wish her a safe trip to see it there on full display.

Pillow Cases for a Cause~

Thursday morning had barely begun when the door opened and in floated 10 angels from the Camellia Quilters group, their arms carrying pillows and cases for the Kids in Transition [project we wrote about in our newsletter.

Here you can see the ladies and some of the 23 pillowcases and 6 new pillows. That single donation almost doubled what we had and bumped our tally up to 49! It was overwhelming to see the volume in one mass!

So, we are above the half-way mark and 14 days away from National Quilting Day.

This is the day we have marked off as the deadline to receive pillows and cases and hand them over to the K Bar B Ranch.

Quilters are going to be at the shop with their machines on that Saturday, March 17, to make more cases between the hours of 10-2 that day, so if you have a hankering to join in, bring your machine and fabric and whirr with us. It is so much fun to make them as a group! Here is where you can find free pillowcase patterns from AllPeopleQuilt.com.

As a Thank You , Pearl is giving back a $5.00 Gift Certificate to each donor.
