Ice Cream Quilt Class and Other Useful Information

(cuz, hey, that's what I'm here for!)

Quick Reminders:

Courteney is offering this class on Tuesday, May 5 and there is space available......

Today, Thursday, April 30 is Applique Society from 9:30 to Noon and

Tomorrow: Friday May 1 is our monthly Sit n Sew UFO Friday. If you are working on anything needs assistance or just want to hang out and work on it and need a little friendly company, bring it in and bring it on! We'll cheer you across the "finished" line

Swanky on a Roll

Strange name for such a pretty quilt but it's taken from the fabric line and the book the pattern comes from.

The fabric is "Swanky", a beautiful fun collection of contemporary florals in bright pastel colors. (Now I know that sounds a little strange "bright and pastel" in the same description but when you see it up-close, you'll know what I mean)

The patten comes from the book, Strip Happy, Quilting on a Roll and it's filled with great ideas for quilts using these wonderful "jelly rolls" that have become so popular.

Our sample is the first quilt you see as you enter by the door.

I BELIEVE.........

.........it's beginning to look like Christmas again.

Nancy Halverson

We have received the entire line of Nancy Halverson's I Believe Christmas fabric for 2009. It's the first thing you see when you enter the shop now and we have a lovely kit made up using the center panel (the first bolt on the floor). It's the Serape pattern and we'll have a photo of the sample up shortly.

The quilt measures 55" - 78" and is priced at $47.99

Quilt Camp for Kids

It's almost the end of the school year and that means summer is upon us once again.

What do you do with the kids to keep them from merely kicking back and watching tv or exercising their thumbs with Nintendo?

In the past few years, we have offered a quilting camp for teens and have had some wonderful students go through.

Mary Green has been the teacher and inspired these young adultsto finish a quilt-top in just a few short weeks and with the fabric lines out there today, this has resulted in bright contemporary quilts. Quilting isn't just Thimbleberries and calico, is it? It's not just for girls either! It's great to see the enthusiasm for this craft grow in our youth every year.

If you have a youth in your life that's looking for something to do with their hands this summer, give us call. We will be working on our next summer season classes in the next few weeks and will keep you up-to-date on when they'll be announced shortly.

Tulip Bag Class

HOW CUTE ARE THESE????

Here are several results from Jayne's recent Tulip Bag class.

Someone asked if it really can be made in two hours.... well, it certainly can be accomplished in the length of the class. And the pattern comes in four sizes, from Small thru Jumbo.

Been A While

since last I posted. As you can see, we have just sent out a newsletter and calendar of up-coming events and classes.

What a gorgeous spring we've been having. It makes it difficult for me to choose between being out in the garden or in with the quilting. Luckily with the rain, I get to be "stuck" inside sewing up a storm of my own and the plants get a good soaking to set up their roots. (talk about win-win, huh?)

With that in mind, come check out all the fresh fabric we've been receiving. Definitely spring-inspired and fabulous colors.

I think you'll like the line-up of classes we are offering these next 3 months.
If you go to the calendar below and click on a day, you'll see details including time, instructor and requirements. I'd like to say hello to a new instructor: Courtney. (hello!!!!) She is offering several new classes so check it out, y'all.

As always, we are open to requests for classes, or suggestions for blogging needs. Let us know how we can assist you in your quilting dreams.
....for easier viewing.
